Meet the team behind the LIG Global Foundation! Together we are committed to delivering quality medical care, sharing medical education and techniques as we proudly serve those who need the most help around the world.
"It is very rewarding to help others; I love evaluating the needs of different areas or people and then utilizing our resources to fulfill those needs. Life truly can be great through service. We help others but get so much back in return - a feeling of self worth and of making the world a better place. I also enjoy meeting the volunteers: different people from different walks of life. Each has enriched my understanding of who I am, who I can be and who we all can be to each other. Together we can be the change we wish to see in the world."
“As one of the original co-founders of LIG Global, I have always been motivated to help as many people in the world while I am able. By bringing medical and non-medical volunteers to underserved areas throughout the world, we seek to reach those who have been marginalized.”
"As one of the co-founding members, my dream remains to create an infrastructure that will allow for continuity of care for all, specifically focusing on very remote, low-resource locations globally where people would need the care the most. My belief is that with the right resources and technology, we can provide lasting healthcare services to those in need"
"My vision for LIG Global is to continue the traditions of finding creative ways to serve others through sustainable and forward-thinking strategies. LIG creates the avenues for people to become involved in something so much greater than themselves. This organization fosters an environment that allows individuals to grow and become enlightened to the profound impact that they can have on the world around them. Through global connections within LIG, volunteers have endless support and resources to continue the mission of giving and service. With every project and mission, volunteers are left with a craving to do more and be more for others. The continued growth and forward momentum of the organization will continue to connect more people and “light the spark
“My passion is access to health care. Fertility patients traditionally face obstacles in obtaining adequate reproductive services due to lack of insurance for this purpose. Similarly, patients living in underserved areas may not have access to very basic health care needs, screening or treatments. Being able to help patients and systems, wherever they are inspires me.”
“I have known and admired the work of LIG for many years and am thrilled to be a part of this experience. I find them to be a unique group in that they address many needs of a community, not just one, by utilizing many talents of their multiple aged members.”
"Throughout my life, I have been fortunate in being surrounded by people who realize that the world needs mending. These ordinary people take on the extraordinary mission to help repair the world; each in their own way. It started with the teaching of Tikkun Olam as a child, graduated to the common good at Bowdoin College and was further strengthened in the United States Peace Corps. LIG Global embodies the understanding that life is not perfect, however that imperfection is but an opportunity to better oneself, community, and those we have yet to know and care for. This is why Life Is Great. I want to continue on the mission together; transforming the lives of those we serve alongside those who serve. Together, we can do anything.&q
"What motivates me is knowing that I am in a position where I can and should make the world a better place for all people regardless of where they are born. I feel that I am so lucky to have been born into the family I was born into, and for the life that I have lived so far. I know that with my education and my passion for helping others, working with LIG Global to improve lives of those living in the most vulnerable of circumstances is something I know I can truly make a widespread impact on. I always tell people when they ask me why I work with nonprofit organizations, I say "I want to leave this world a better place than I found it."
