LIG Global Seeks to raise $1,500 for bedsheets for Dominican Republic hospital in need.
The LIG Global Foundation is seeking support for our partner hospital - Hospital Ramón Matías Mella de Dajabón.
Your gift will go towards providing much needed bed sheets for this underserved community. Our minimum goal of $1,500 will send enough bed sheets to outfit each hospital bed. Our ultimate goal will ensure two sheets for every bed. All donations will be used to purchase twin or twin-xl sheets and mailed directly to hospital director, Dr. Angela Arias Castro.
Your donation will provide:
- A Twin or Twin-XL bed sheet set
- Comfort to recovering patients
- A continued effort to help the people and community of Dajabón.
Your generous donation will directly impact and change the lives of the patients in Dajabón.
It’s easy to take for granted the little things that make hospital visits comfortable. For hospitals around the world - and Hospital Ramón Matías Mella in Dajabón - it is not uncommon for recovering patients to provide their own bed sheets when they receive care. Regrettably, patients do not always have the luxury of spare bed sheets, often leaving them to recover on bare rubber hospital beds.
Our goal is to ensure each hospital bed has a dedicated bed sheet, along with a spare, to provide even the smallest bit of comfort to the community of Dajabón. This is just one small thing that can greatly impact the lives of men, women, and children as they recover while in hospital.
While we have been unable to travel to Dajabón this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still determined to provide comfort, hope, medical supplies, and quality healthcare to the community. We are proud to help Dr. Angela Arias Castro in her mission as the newly appointed director of Hospital Ramón Matías Mella.

The capital city of the Dajabón province in the Dominican Republic, Dajabón is located directly on the border with neighbouring Haiti. North of the Cordillera Central mountain range, Dajabón is famous for its market where each Monday and Friday the border to its sister city of Ouanaminthe, Haiti is opened so both Haitians and Dominicans alike can sell their goods.
LIG Global is proud to be in our 11th year in partnership with local medical providers to serve the community of Dajabón. What first began as a clinical and routine women’s healthcare program turned into the LIG team helping perform specialized and difficult surgeries.
The healthcare team performs surgeries that the community would need to wait months or even years to have performed otherwise. Patients travel from up to several hours away in order to obtain the medical care they so desperately need. The medical and non-medical services that LIG Global brings to Dajabón create lasting changes for the local healthcare providers, patients, and citizens alike
