Volunteer Spotlight: Amina Sadural

In September, LIG Global would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the years of commitment from a special volunteer who sees LIG Global as family (literally!): Amina Sadural.

Amina’s experiences and passions span an array of topics, highlighting how well-rounded she is. As a senior studying immigration at Georgetown University, Amina is preparing for the next step in her career, which would be attending law school. Outside of her academics, Amina is an avid reader and cook; she also enjoys discussing movie scores and dancing bhangra.

Being the daughter of two of the founders of LIG Global, Dr. Ernani Sadural and Dr. Sarah Timmapuri, Amina was able to grow up with LIG! Starting in the 7th grade, Amina went on her first trip with LIG Global and has since traveled with the team across the globe, ranging from the Dominican Republic to Tanzania to Peru to Elizabeth, NJ! Her uniquely personal connection to LIG Global has allowed her to build special connections with the LIG Global community and make a meaningful impact in the regions that we visit.

Amina says that her favorite aspect of volunteering with LIG Global is the family (both by blood and by friendship) formed during these trips.

“These are the kind of people who we just pick up where we left off when we see each other again no matter how much time has passed,” Amina remarks. She describes their kindness and love as being an integral and formative aspect of her childhood. “I’m blessed to have gotten to learn and grow up with my LIG family,” Amina reflects.

We are equally grateful for Amina’s work throughout the years and are excited to see what the future holds for her!
