Typhoon Haiyan Relief, IloIlo, Philippines (Partnering with Marion Rose World Mission)
As of December 1st, 2013, LIG Global and the Marian Rose World Mission have raised over $150,000 towards the Philippines relief project.
We will be sending 73 medical and non-medical volunteers to the Philippines on January 3rd, 2014 to conduct medical and surgical camps in and around Iloilo, which sustained typhoon damage along the coastline. They shall also perform a needs assessment, site visit, and see patients in the Tacloban and Abuyog area.
Together with the LOAF Foundation, we will provide 2,000 free hot meals per day for the next two months with the “Kitchen on Wheels”.
More than $500,000.00 worth of medications were collected by the two foundations, were shipped earlier, and have already arrived in the Philippines.
We continue to raise funds to reach our goal of providing a long term mobile medical units around Iloilo and to help the rebuilding efforts. LIG Global will assist local fishermen by donating $350 each buy the materials needed to build 10 fishing boats for their livelihoodand allow them to purchase fishing gear.
